The Luxembourg Times, Reporter
Luxembourg Times seeking ambitious reporter
If you trust your sources more than a press release and if you’re always hunting for the story others cannot get, we may have just the job for you. At the Luxembourg Times, you will write the daily news in quick succession one week and hear your sources out over lunch the next. In the newsroom, nothing stands in the way for you to give our subscribers what they pay for: exclusive news.
The Luxembourg Times has rapidly established itself as the nation’s leading on-line newspaper in English since it was set up three years ago. With a focus on the EU, business and finance, and local life and politics, our news coverage is creating a stir. Luxembourg - a hub for EU institutions and Europe’s largest fund management centre - may be a small country, but it is full of big stories. At the Luxembourg Times, it will be your job to tell those stories, and to tell them well.
In this role, you will be part of a team of eight driven and supportive journalists, who currently stem from six different countries. The candidate we are looking for has three to five years of experience, with a solid portfolio of published stories. Experience as a business reporter or covering the EU institutions is a plus. You need to master either German or French, and a writing test in English will be part of the hiring procedure. If you get invited for an interview, make sure you come armed with some convincing story ideas, and a plan for how to get them.
The role is based in Luxembourg and will initially be for a fixed term of one year, with the possibility of an extension for the right candidate.
The Luxembourg Times is part of Mediahuis, the group that publishes leading European newspapers such as De Standaard in Belgium, NRC Handelsblad and De Telegraaf in the Netherlands, the Irish Independent and the Luxemburger Wort.
