Job Details
POLITICO is looking for an experienced bilingual editor (EN/FR) to join the team covering EU and French politics. This position will preferably be based in the Brussels office.
We’re looking for a highly-motivated professional with a taste for entrepreneurship and an ability to work in an international environment.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for politics, a strong news sense and sharp hands-on editing skills.
The job will involve close coordination with teams in Brussels, Paris and across Europe to produce quality articles for a sophisticated readership.
The job will include news planning and editing copy from reporters with various levels of experience, from high-profile political stories to granular policy developments, for POLITICO.eu, our PRO subscription service and the weekly paper edition.
The news editor will help tailor our content for both our free and PRO audience. We’re looking for editors who are ruthless on accuracy and style while being able to display some creative flair in story-telling.
Qualifications:
- Native-level French and full proficiency in English required.
- Strong French language editing skills;
- Knowledge of French politics;
- Ability to work under pressure and on deadline;
- Good coordination and communications skills;
- Knowledge of other European languages is a plus;
- 5 years of newsroom experience minimum.
