POLITICO, Politics Reporter - EN-FR (Paris)
POLITICO is looking for an ambitious, experienced political journalist to expand its Paris bureau.
POLITICO takes pride in its non-partisan journalism, based on original reporting and distinctive voices. The reporter will join a growing team in Paris and work closely with colleagues based in Brussels, London, Berlin and Washington D.C.
We’re a digital-first publication, serving a sophisticated audience through our POLITICO.eu news platform, our PRO subscription service and a weekly paper edition.
Our readers, who often have a professional interest in politics, value our agenda-setting, deeply reported newsletters and stories that give them crucial insights on the day ahead and the depth of our coverage at the intersection of politics and policy.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for politics, a track record of scoops and exclusives and extensive experience covering French politics and politicians, from campaign trails to ministerial corridors.
The reporter will have a leading role in shaping our French politics coverage, from the government’s response to the coronavirus crisis to the 2022 presidential election and beyond.
The successful candidate will have strong reporting and writing skills and an ability to cover breaking news as well as work on deeply reported features.
- Professional fluency in French and English is required.
- Senior reporter/correspondent;
- Strong knowledge of French politics;
- Strong English-language writing skills;
- Ability to work under pressure and on deadline;
- Leadership skills;
- Knowledge of other European languages is a plus;
- 7 years of newsroom experience minimum.
