POLITICO, Tech Reporter (Brussels)
POLITICO Europe is looking for a Tech Reporter to be based in Brussels.
Technology is one of the most pressing challenges facing policymakers, business leaders and consumers around the world.
We are looking for an experienced policy reporter to join our team and report on a range of topics related to tech, from artificial intelligence to data governance to Europe's "tech sovereignty" agenda amid deepening rivalry between world powers. This beat will involve reporting on policy and legislative developments in EU institutions and national capitals as well as lobbying by private corporations.
The successful candidate will have an eye for detail and a track record of rigorous reporting and scoops. He or she should be a team-worker, with a good understanding of how policy is made and a demonstrated ability to develop sources within government agencies, at company level and within lobbying organizations.
The policy reporter will contribute to our flagship daily newsletter, write short news reports as well as longer features that appeal beyond a core audience. He or she will also be the public face of POLITICO at events and panels on topics that range from cybersecurity to digital rights.
- College degree or equivalent
- At least two years newsroom experience
- Written and verbal fluency in English
- Fluency in other European languages a strong plus
It is POLITICO's policy to provide equal employment opportunity to all qualified individuals without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age or any other characteristic protected by local laws and regulations.
