Company Description

Progressive Media International is a global organisation specialising in publishing and intelligence, educating, informing and influencing businesses and communities around the world.

Our organisation disseminates the knowledge and pioneering insight from our industry-leading analysts and editors across a diverse and growing readership.

Job Description

Progressive Media International is looking for an editor to source and deliver high-quality content for its respected portfolio of biannual B2B publications covering the heavy lifting sector.

As Editor, you will lead content strategy and help manage the editorial process from the planning stage through to publication.

You’ll have experience in an editorial position, working with freelance journalists and liaising with commercial teams. You will also work closely with the editor of Hoist’s sister publication, Cranes Today, and proof news, features and layout from each other’s titles and websites.

We’re looking for someone who can generate must-read content ideas, source top-class contributors and keep up an active dialogue with senior industry figures to deliver articles on the issues and developments that matter to our readers. You’ll be energetic, organised and diligent about deadlines.

The role is based in central London and offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to make their mark on a dynamic portfolio of titles.

Qualifications

  • You’ll be energetic, organised and diligent about deadlines.
  • Applicants must have proven experience of writing and editing longform features on a regular basis, ideally on subjects related to the built environment sector.
  • A proven ability to manage a diverse and far-flung network of freelance journalists.
  • A sincere interest in longform journalism in all of its forms.
  • Experience of editing and writing news on a website (re-launch planned in 2021)
