Preference will be given to applicants with relevant data science experience applied to finance, advanced degrees and relevant certifications.

Key duties:

  • Serve as a liaison for external and internal counterparts to leverage resources and information across divisions to gather unique, proprietary data for research and ratings
  • Development and maintenance of data architecture linked to research and rating models
  • Assist researchers in the creation of related tools and systems (i.e. dashboards, tables)
  • Prototyping and implementation of new data concepts and enhancements to our current data services.

Required experience and skills:

  • Degree in Data Science, Statistics/Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or related field of study
  • Technical skills, code writing, and web extraction experience
  • Understanding of key topics linked to capital markets
  • Knowledge of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) topics desired but not essential
  • Interest in financial modeling and capital markets

Experience in several of the following:

  • Identifying, analyzing and getting insights from complex, unstructured and incomplete datasets. Experience with Regex with Python will be highly desirable.
  • Using data visualizations (Python and Tableau) to generate insights and communicate results.
  • Working knowledge of data science and Big Data tools:
  • Python and its data science ecosystem (pandas, numpy, matplotlib, seaborn).
  • SQL and noSQL databases and basic machine learning with Python techniques
  • Data processing and cleaning
  • Exploratory data analysis
  • Regression, classification, clustering and other standard algorithms.
  • Tuning, cross-validation and evaluation of model performance
