You Will:

  • Tell news, feature and enterprise stories in creative ways using video, motion graphics and animation.
  • Translate complex stories into smart, informative video packages.
  • Animate text, maps and charts with a focus on engaging our audience.
  • Produce high-quality videos on deadline, including same-day pieces.
  • Partner with reporters and editors across the newsroom to identify and produce timely video news pieces that are visually distinctive and of interest to the WSJ audience.
  • Produce graphics and animations for live streaming coverage.

  • Reliably work independently and be a strong decision maker in an effort to keep projects moving forward.
  • Ensure that all WSJ journalistic and legal standards are followed.

You Have:

  • At least five years of professional experience producing graphic animations in a daily news environment, preferably at a large news organization.
  • An ability to tell stories in creative ways using graphics and animation.
  • Strong knowledge of current events, U.S. politics, economics, and a nose for news.
  • Deep understanding of, and interest in, The Wall Street Journal's core topic areas.
  • Professional-level understanding of Adobe Suite, with advanced skills in Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Exceptional hand-drawn and/or computer-assisted illustration skills.
