Luxembourg Times seeks two ambitious journalists
The Luxembourg Times is looking for two news-driven reporters with several years of experience. You’ll be especially welcome if you know the financial industry well, or the institutions of the European Union.
We are the country’s leading online newspaper in English. We cover the EU, business and finance, and life and politics in Luxembourg. Our sister publication - the Luxemburger Wort - is one of Europe’s great quality newspapers.
As one of a six-strong team, you’ll need to be able to write quickly to cover spot news. But your real strength lies in coming up with your own ideas for exclusive stories and investigations, for which you will get ample time.
You’ll need to be an unfailing part of a tightly-knit team, and an independent authority in your beat at the same time.
Flawless English is a must. And to get by in this very multilingual country, you’ll also need French or German – one of the two.
A dynamic journalist with an interest in how business operates and how it intersects with politics will never be bored in Luxembourg.
It is Europe’s biggest fund management hub, and one of the clear beneficiaries from Brexit. Its liberal business climate attracts companies in areas as diverse as fintech, artificial intelligence, private banking, and even space mining.
It is also criticised for being a tax haven, and for stepping on the brakes whenever international rules tighten. With that, it has known its fair amount of scandals.
The Luxembourg Times newsroom is in Luxembourg City. You will work shifts two weeks out of six, and a weekend shift once every six weeks.
