AFP, Anglophone Journalist (Geneva)

AFP, one of the world's leading international news agencies, is seeking an anglophone journalist to join its team in Geneva.

The bureau is one of the busiest in the Europe region for AFP. Its journalists are often required to write or contribute to the biggest stories of the day owing to Switzerland’s role as host to United Nations organizations, the World Health Organization, international sporting bodies such as FIFA and the International Olympic Committee, and the World Trade Organization.

The country is also a centre of global finance and a winter sports hub whose wealth, changing society and unique political system make it a regular source of interesting stories.

Qualifications for the post:

• Proven professional experience in written journalism and an ability to write fast and lively copy on a broad range of topics. A background in wire agency reporting would be a plus.
• Native-level English speaker with excellent French and strong German language skills.
• Sound knowledge of international diplomacy, human rights, global health, international sports governance and trade. Interest in environmental issues.
• Video skills an advantage.
